I still have the phone. It's just in the center console because I used the phone mounting bracket as the mounting point for a bike cup holder. But I know the phone still works. I contacted Motorola yesterday about the system but they didn't even know about it and I don't see it anywhere else. Seems to be super duper rare. The system I have that is.Is there a computer under the backseat on the driver side of an Xj?-photo4294966948.jpgIs there a computer under the backseat on the driver side of an Xj?-photo594.jpgIs there a computer under the backseat on the driver side of an Xj?-photo763.jpgIs there a computer under the backseat on the driver side of an Xj?-photo197.jpgIs there a computer under the backseat on the driver side of an Xj?-photo4294967170.jpg

That is the transceiver for a Motorola 6000 cellular phone, as we were discussing in the CB thread, Liam. I installed many of them. It was the most expensive unit that Moto sold back in the day when cellular phones were installed in cars. It has two antenna ports because it made use of what is called, "antenna diversity", where the unit will actually look at which antenna has the best signal, and use that.

Looks like you have the whole enchilada there, not that it will do you any good. There were too many of them around for it to have any real value as a collector's item.

I suggest you just remove it all. The coax isn't going to be useful for anything, as I explained on the CB thread. Just cut it close to where it hides under the headliner, tuck it up in there, and fuggedaboudit.

The antenna itself is held on with double-stick tape and (usually) some clear silicone. A razor blade and putty knife will get it off.

The data/power cable can just be cut wherever it's convenient, or you can follow it and remove it.

Well not even Motorola could tell me the model name hahaha thanks. I think I might just leave it for the sake of a classic look. But thanks!

You guys realize that that photo was posted by Liam, but Liam is NOT the OP of this thread, right? The OP could have posted a photo making this much easier but hasn't been back once yet.
