Hey, Jeep experts!
I recently bought a overhead console from a 94 XJ for my 96 XJ.
I was wondering how to go about testing the computers because, the console and computers were extra from some who was doing the same thing to his Jeep and he thinks they are dead.
I want to make sure they're dead before I go out searching for replacements.
Thanks.

I understand that much. I meant more along the lines of what to use for the power? A car battery? or what? I have no real wiring experience.

Anything that is 12V_DC. I have spare "wall-warts" (wall adapters) that I use for such thing. If you go that route, be sure to check polarity of the wires first, using a multimeter.
