Default Testing backup light switch

Is it possible to test this style backup switch out of the vehicle and if so..How?...It`s from a '92 with a manual transmission..Thanks

yes check it for continuity between the contacts in the plug push the ball in and watch the meter

OK..There is no continuity between the contacts in the plug normally but when I push the ball in continuity exists.

Sound like it should work, usually if it changes state it's working.
