Default Terrible gas mileage

k so my '00 XJ Classic with a 4.0 I6 has decided to start bein an absolute pig on gas. I've done nothin to it liftwise and i haven't put big tires on it. Air filter is brand new, fresh oil/filter change, fresh tranny fluid/filter change and it spends most of its time in 2WD. Any input is appreciated.. willing to try anything.

Thanks alot.

it started in decemberish but i've only owned the truck since september so i dunno what it should be around in the winter.
I dunno what the conversion is to mpg kuz i'm from Canada and we decided to screw everythin up by puttin in a b.s. measuring system but i'm using about 17L/100kms. So whatever that works out to. And considerin my dads '04 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L H.O. V8 with full time 4X4 uses about that i think there is something wrong.
