Default Temp Sensor

As some of you know I have recently bought a new gauge cluster and set the correct mileage on it. I have to swap the oil pressure and water temp sensors to get those gauges to work. I already bought both and installed the oil pressure unit with no problems. However, I bought the temp unit at Advanced Auto and when I went to plug the sensor in the plug snapped off. I was quite angry. Anyway what brand do you guys recommend I get for a new temp sensor. Or just whatever you guys have as all I want is one with a non busted plug on it. If you know of one that has a metal or metal re enforced plug that is more specifically what I want.

I think Advanced Auto Parts have a metal one. Try them online to see...Tj

Can you build a new gauge cluster? I considered buying a gauge bezel and buying my own gauges and mounting them in. Are the senders plug and go?

How did you reset the mileage?

I had the dummy light cluster in my cherokee. I swapped it out with the one with all of the gauges and the trip odometer. I also set the odometer to the Cherokees actual mileage. However, this also means you have to swap out the temp sensor and oil pressure sending unit so that those gauges work.

I followed these instructions mostly. Except if the mileage is relitively close just role it forward or back with a dremel. Otherwise just swap the odometer wheel. I started by rolling the one I had back but it was 30k miles off so I just swapped to old counter onto the new cluster. I also put the black faceplate on the new cluster by drilling a hole in it for the trip reset. Check out my build thread if you want to see it. Does anyone know if AutoZone has a metal one. I am really irritated with Advanced Auto right now.
