Okay I agree its probably electrical. I'll check more of the wiring tomorrow.

I just wanted to finish up on this post. I don't like it when people don't follow up to let everyone know what happened or the problem was fixed.

I removed the speedo assembly again and reseated it. It seems to have worked. The temp gauge is staying steady now.

I guess it wasn't making a good connection in the rear. I guess the connection must control the electric fan somehow. Its not popping on and off anymore. Thanks guys for any help
