Just replaced my thermostat housing, thermostat (195 degree) and water pump...temp gauge goes up the temp in the pic...then the electric fan kicks on and its drops back down to around 210...seems to be working fine, but just wanted some confirmation
will burp the system again tomorrow...see if there's any more hidden air bubbles.

Mine gets that hot too sometimes. If I drive it long periods. You can "jump" your electric fan relay to always be on. I do on my 90 and it helps. I'm converting to an open system soon though

did min makes all the difference in the world i run 180 190 all day long with ac on
That is definately hot.
Throw a 180 t-stat in, flush the entire cooling system, make sure your fans are running. And maybe consider doing some vents.
And EVERY car no matter what style of cooling system, needs burped. Some will burp themselves, but you should still do it.

Stock thermostat is what is needed. Engine is designed to run at a certain temp. Plus with a thermostat that low it is going to be in the open position all the time and may actually cause over heating down the road due to the coolant flowing un-restricted.
i have 1995 jeep cherokee sport
that i got few weeks ago and it is over heating it get to about 240 and fan kick in
i have flushed the radiator change all the sensors and thermostat and i still have this problem if i turn the heater on the car starts to cool down if im on the highway it stays on 218 till i stop driving
what can the problem be
