Default Temp Front washer pump repair

Ok so I know this is a weird fix and I didn't want to spend the money on a new front washer pump. I had power going to the pump but no fluid, couldn't hear it running either. I removed the front pump and noticed that it was very rusted on the end. Knocked off some rust and found that it was actually rotted and I could see the motor windings. For the hell of it I tore the rusty end of the motor off and the darn thing spun free after that. I hooked a battery to the motor and it spun under power without a problem. The rusted end cap was pushing on the motor windings inside and locking it up. I ended up using a Coke bottle cap to cap off the end of the motor. I used some rtv on it to seal moisture out. Then I just wrapped it in electrical tape to keep it all together for now. The darn thing sprays fluid just like new. Now this is a free way to temp. repair the pump if your having the same issues. I took a crappy photo but you get the idea.

Nice, is this still working for you?
Also I don't know if you priced them or not but the washer pumps are only like $25.

Ha! Good job! I did that exact same repair on a friends' pump (minus the bottle top) Just cleaned up the rust and got it to spin. Been workin' fine for over a year now.
