Oh 242?

Never been in one lol. If you don't disassemble the main shaft it should be the same.

The worst part about this is the damn snap ring on the oil seal.... I'm 3 hours in and still don't have the case split. A good hour of it was spent getting parts and tools... I still need to go get a new oil seal, because the good old boys at auto'reillys don't know dickall about anything they sell....

Ran to Lowes at 9 to get snap ring pliers and grabbed a set of Kobalts. Well, half way through the second ring, the rivet snapped and they fell apart.... So here I am, on my 7th beer, TC not even pulled apart... Decided to move to the hubs and u joints, and the rotor is seized onto the hub and I don't have a torch. I just soaked it down with PB and gave been beating on it with a dead blow.... Nothing. Jeep gods are either telling me to go to bed, or to quit being a little ******** and grab the mini sledge....

This is the one I'm working on. The white one is getting sold as soon as I get this one "finished".

Well, I had one HECK of a time getting the back piece off. Indeed up with the entire output shaft and planetary gear set, and both back side case pieces on my chest. Took 20 minutes with a dead blow to knock the bearing off the shaft. The bearing was actually perfect, so I left it be. I got everything cleaned up real nice and RTVd together. The filter was clean and the magnet was nearly clean. Chain wasnt very slack at all, and compared to rebuild videos, it looked almost new, so I'm pretty satisfied. I never want to deal with snap rings again, but now I have great set of snap ring pliers. Rotors are still seized to the hubs and I broke my 1/2" trying to crack the axle nuts off, so to. HF I go for a cheap breaker tomorrow. Can't wait to take the old girl out for her first spin with a freshly serviced TC.

Be careful wacking on that rotor you'll damage your hub bearing. Hit the face of the rotor. Good luck.
