I'm going to be lifting my '86 soon, and I've got a few questions. I have the old style front driveshaft (not sure what its called) coming out of my NP 207. Obviously it would be a huge improvement to just swap in a 231 if I find one, and if it bolts up to my transmission (AX-5)... If not, is it possible to swap a newer cv-style driveshaft into my 207 tcase?

What years and transmissions/tcases should I be looking at for the correct size and spline count? I have the AX-5 in front of my 207...
