Default Tcase change

I have a NP231 j tcase that the chain is stretched far beyond repair so picked up a used one to throw on. All the YouTube videos seem pretty intense and not helpful. I haven't changed one yet so any advice would be great!

When you pulled the TC apart was there a reason that you didn't just replace the chain or a gear? Really an easy job to do.
