Anyone bored their TB or have a good link to a write-up on Boring out you TB? I'm going to get an extra one REAL cheap and I thought I would give it a shot.

If memory servers the top is 55mm and bottom is 52mm so you can bore the bottom to match which any machine shop can do and then if you want to go beyond the 55mm then you have to replace the butterfly and so on. So if you want to go beyond 55mm do as the previous poster said and just buy one from strokerjeep..

Yea I got a guy from www.jeepstrokers.com that will take mine and send me a
62mm for $65 buck(he also does great piston work!). But, I wanted to try doing it to 55mm by myself.

i bought one from strokedjeep.com. IMO with 55MM you wont notice anyting for your time. 60-64MM is where you notice the lowend gain.

Yea I think it is a side thing and I can't say that the price I got will be the same for all(I do not want to make him upset and him up the price on me) but I know it is a lot cheaper than a new one. I will PM you his info. Here is a pic of his work.

I could be way off here, but I was told porting and polishing your TB was like putting a funnel on top of a straw; the TB already allows enough air through and allowing more isn't going to do anything. Maybe that was specific to my 2001 being an HO, I dunno.

Letting more air in is always good. That is the whole point is to get more air in faster and then back out even quicker. But alot of guys do this with the aspiration of doing a stroker one day and you must have one fora stroker.

Got my 60mm throttle body put on my Renix jeep, Should have done this sooner, so much better. Smoother acceleration and throttle response just need to finish adjusting the TPS sensor.
