Default Tail lights not working

My friend has been working on my 95 Cherokee country. and the headlights and tail lights wouldn't work on it. He fixed it, but now the tail lights work occasionally and the reverse lights wont work. However the Brake lights do work.
If somebody could help me out, that would be awesome.
Thank you

If they countinue to not work or you keep blowing fuses get some electrial connection cleaner and clean out the wire connecters

usually just a fuse? but mine did that and you should check the light **** maybe? the brake lights run seperately.. mine worked when my running lights would not.

on my 97 i have a harness connector pulled down that when you pull it apart, the brake lights and reverse lights dont work. Check all you connections under the dash at the bottom of the steering column. I had a 93 ZJ that had a rear lamp module in the back that went bad because my trailer lights shorted it out and i had to jumper the left side lights to the right side lights, but the Cherokees dont have modules i dont think.

Thanks for all the help
That would be your NSS (Nuetral Safety Switch)
Most times the switch gets gunked up and "sticks"
Sometimes causing a "no start without jiggling shifter" condition.

There are many write-ups on the net about rebuilding them. Very easy. Takes less than 1hr. Saves from buying new unit ($175 and up)

Just search for NSS rebuild

Default Running/marker lights continuously blow fuses

I have a 98 Cherokee Sport that keeps blowing fuses on the running lights. It is supposed to have seperate fuses for each side, but replacing one will get both sides going again, and at random (usually dark nights) the lights will go out. I have been warned twice now by police because I do not realize the lights are out while driving. The dash lights stay on as well as the headlights, so I am unaware that my taillights and marker lights are dead. Has anyone ever run into this before? Or can someone at least give me a direction to head? Thanks in advance
