My left tail light is out, i changed bulb, nothing, changed socket, nothing.

So i thought it would be a short, my right tail light is working so i spliced the power/ground wires and ran them to my NEW socket, the right tail light still works, but left tail light still wont come on. Even wired directly to the power from the right tail light.

Im stumped... Any help greatly appreciated as i am working on it now, was planning to start sanding for paint after i finish this so i wanna get it done.

 

because ive got nothing else... is the new bulb still good? fuses wouldnt be an issue... man, idk... mulitmeter to see if there is an appropriate signal going to it?...

 

I got 2 bulbs, neither of them have worked. i think i may have got a bad socket from the parts store, i just disconnected the right tail light (working) and hooked the new socket up to the right tail light wires and it didnt work. so there has to be something wrong with the socket.

im going to get a new one and go from there i suppose
