Hello. I bought my first Jeep this week, a 1998 Cherokee Classic. Today I was driving and my tachometer and speedometer simultaneously stopped working. Additionally, the airbag indicator light came on. I drove for a few miles and the tach and speedometer started working again and the airbag indicator light went off. This happened 3 or 4 times. Has anyone experienced this, and, if so, do you know what the issue could be?

It sounds like a bad connection behind the gauge cluster. Very common on 97-01 XJs. Pull the gauge cluster out, spray some contact cleaner on the pins and use a little dielectric grease on the pins, reassemble. If the issue persists we can go further!
