T-case Knob Removal

T-case **** Removal
I searched... Maybe I'm not good at searching, so please feel free to berate me as necessary 
How does the **** for the t-case come off? Is it molded on and non-replaceable, or is it similar to the automatic shifter **** wherein it takes 3 men and a grown boy to remove?
This is for my '99 with an NP-231. TIA!!
