Default Symptoms of a clogged/stuck lifter or failing lifter

Hey guys recently did a cylinder head swap on my 94 xj sport 4.0 and in the past few days I’ve noticed a lifter tick and a misfire today I popped off my valve cover cranked her over and noticed on cylinder #1 my intake valve is not opening and I can press my push rod down fairly easy, now obviously first sign would be failed lifter but before I jump to that has anyone had this issue if the lifter gets clogged and won’t pump oil or is it a definite lifter failure if NOT a lifter failure just a clog or it’s stuck any tips to get it moving again? Not really looking forward to tearing the head back off and replacing it especially cause these are brand new lifters and I don’t believe I have a wiped lobe on my cam

To check the cam remove the rocker arm and hold down the push rod with you finger you don't have to hold it hard then just crank it over but don't start it and see if it goes up and down like the others .

Awesome I hadn’t thought of that am I supposed to check for a certain “ride height” I guess you. could call it and if I feel the cam lobe engaging the face of the lifter does that mean that the lifter has failed or is it clogged?

If it goes like the others then you lifter is bad . Then you will need to change the lifter .
