Default SYE/Driveshaft - Best deal?

Hey Everybody,

Going to order a SYE and driveshaft soon, any recommendations as to where to get the best deal (and still quality parts)? Thanks!

I dont' know about the SYE but I know the Front DS will work for the rear also and I haven't heard anyone have problems with that setup. I also know the Grand Cherokee front DS is about an inch longer (if you have more than 4 inches of lift)

So you mean that I could go yank a front driveshaft off one from the junkyard and it will work for the rear? What about having a slip yoke AND slip shaft, does that not cause any problems?

If you are using a SYE, you won't have a slip-yoke... only the slip-shaft.

Right - but I don't have a SYE. So, can I get the SYE and then use a front DS for the rear?

I have no experience with the SYE except for pictures and builds others have posted.

I don't do big-lifts or crawling, so the slip-yoke works fine for me.

Yes the front DS from an auto XJ will work with a SYE. I am running a PORC SYE with a DS from an auto XJ from the JY.

check this out

http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch..._Code=IR-X_HNT

it sells you what you need. If you want the reconditioned shaft its there, or you can pull one from a jy. either way its cheap. Im going to be picking that up in a few weeks I hope.

Says it's out of a 93-98 ZJ w/4.0, measures 31" long. My current rear driveshaft is only about 28 but I can't tell how far out my slip yoke is cuz of the darn boot!

Yeah, I really don't know if it will work or not. By the time I pay for shipping and all that, and buy a non-slip yoke (like the one from ironrockoffroad.com), I'd be in it for about $150 and then still have to replace U-Joints, I think I may just order their package for $200.
