it keeps your body from rolling when going around turns and whatnot. its made to limit articulation to make road handling safer

Do not remove your sway bar. Just get yourself some discos and enjoy your new found flex while retaining your nice street driven stability. With the sway bar disconnected on the street, you WILL notice a difference in road manners. Sway bars are designed to control the stability of a vehicle therefore once its been removed or disconnected the vehicle loses its intended stability making it less safe then intended. I'm not trying to argue or ruffle feathers. This isn't even a matter of opinion, it is what it is.

Yes it is what it is, and what a sway bar is designed to do has already been explained. The issue is people who're acting like removing your sway bar is the end of the world,it isn't plain and simple. There are quite a few of us driving without our sway bar connected for whatever reason, and not running into any major issues. Road manners WILL change but not enough to make a vehicle UNSAFE.
IMO running without a sway bar can almost be safer because you get a very noticeable amount of body lean (making you a more conservative and thus a safer driver) way before you get into a situation where you're at risk of flopping.

How do I know? I've not had my sway bar connected for the past 4 months, i've got as fast as 105 in my Jeep and have tested aggressively swerving at 80mph. all while being on 3" of lift and on 31" tires. Do I recommend disconnecting a sway bar? nope, if you can afford quick disconnects by all means get them. If you can't afford them, driving with it disconnected till you can get them isn't the end of the world and can be done safely.

Some people can handle it, most can't. I don't care how fast you claim to have driven in your XJ, nor what kind of defensive maneuvers you claim to have executed in it. It flat out makes these vehicles less stable and therefore shouldn't be considered by the average driver. Perhaps you you are above average. Good for you. Just because you and a few others may be able to handle it doesn't mean everyone can. Just stating on an internet forum something like, "I drive without my sway bar and don't have any problems," is almost the same as recommending it. I've made my point, flame away, IDC.

You do care, otherwise you wouldn't have made your point.

You must've failed to notice where I said that I don't recommend removing your sway bar. How ever, if someone is going to remove it I'm going to give them the best advice I have to help them drive safely. This isn't a baby sitting service, we're all welcome to our own opinions but I'm here to help out fellow members of the forum.

Help me understand why you would be going 105 in a jeep anyway.

ok so..... from wat i read..... i dont need one its just a lil safer to have one and more comfortable. i think then ill jist get some quick disconnects, rather then remove the whole thing or keep connecting and disconnecting them. (is it my DD and my daily route is many hills with curves so i would feel safer with some quick disconnects)

Because I wanted to see how far I could push it, There was room to go faster but I wasn't comfortable doing that. going 105 in a Jeep isn't necessarily a bad idea, the SRT8 WK can easily, and quite safely do 105mph

Exactly, with you driving so many hills and curves I'd highly recommend a connected sway bar. Get a sen of Gen 2 quick disconnects from Rough Country. They're $20 more than the old style, but very worth it IMO.

I'd recommend this <-CLICKY~! style of disconnect, $20 more but of a much higher build quality IMO. Rough Country doesn't have them listed but they do sell them for XJs, because that exact same style is included with the 4.5" LA kit...call rough country if you decide to get that style.
