Suspension ride question..

Whats the difference between firm and stiff? In regards to suspensions. Example up county or v8 zj front springs make a firm ride while add a leafs make a stiff ride.

lol. I ask cause im thinking about get the car quest front springs and from what I read about them and even the up countrys is they make for a stiff ride. (yea its not going to be easy stayin out of the gutter)
