Default Surco Noise

I'm running my spare on my rack, and wondered if anyone else noticed how noisy it is when you hit bumps. Dont know if this is can be fixed or am I gonna have to get used to it.

When I still had my surco I put my tire up there at times. I had noises as well. Now that I have no surco up to and I don't have a spare in my cargo area I still here noises back there. I think not having a spare in the cargo area is what is actually causing the noise..at least in my case that is how it seems.

I have my spare on my Surco and have no noise or at least I don't hear one. I have plenty of junk in the cargo area like tools and spares and recovery gear so it may be absorbing any noise that is in that area like afbond says.

OK cool, at least someone else had an issue with it. Maybe eventually I'll have the spare tire brace welded to the rack. I'm thinking maybe those bolts cant keep it tight enough to keep the tire from rocking back and forth when hitting bumps in the road.

I have had mine up there awhile and have never had it loosen up at all. Checked it pretty often in the first year but never got loose at all so I now ignore it.

My Surco made noise, and it was the bottom rail that runs from front to back bouncing on the rail running side to side. I zipped tied where they meet and the sound is gone.
