Exclamation sub/amp question (I am extremely confused..and broke)

Alright so I want a subwoofer for my jeep. But nothing crazy I was want better bass for my non-rap music. So I'm looking cheap and i found the two cheapest things at wal-mart.

Will this:
Sony Xplod XS-GTX120LW 12" Car Subwoofer
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=12016333

Work with this, so that both can have RMS with no problem?
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ct_id=12347326

And if they can how do I configure them to work right.

I just want something cheap but will still deliver some pretty nice bass for my music.

Any help is appreciated I'm new at this.

Buying new is always good. But if your local craigslist is anything like mine then you can buy the subs with the amp all mounted with box for pretty cheap I saw a JL500/5 with 2 KC 12s for 150. That Amp is more then enough to blow those speakers but for the price you can get good deals. And just run the Wiring.

I used an Xplod in my civic for 6 years and loved it. i got the red ones in '02 when they first started coming out. i don't know anything about that amp, but i prefer MA for the price versus capability.

surf craigslist for sure. that amp will work but probably not the best. remember you need a box for your sub too. i have 2 12s and an 800w xplod amp and it works great. but might get a single 12" LS7 sub..loud as hell!

The sub is good.... the amp I know nothing about. My guess is that setup will do what you need. My question is of course what head unit are you running. If it is stock you will have a hard time running that amp. The inputs will have to come from one of your speakers and will be weak. If you are running aftermarket with rca outputs it will be fine and the install is easy.

I'm running an aftermarket and they have the outputs.

I would check CL or pawn shops honestly.. I've never been a fan of Sony anything.. You would probably be able to get something nice for cheap.. Wiring all that stuff in is a sinch too.. Really nothing more than matching colors. Also something I do is, apposed to running the remote wire on the amp to the deck, I put in a switch so I can cut the amp off just in case

They sell some pretty cheap wiring kits too. Check online. Walmart probably has some pretty cheap kits too.

yeah i've been looking I've heard 8 gauge is pretty solid but there is a really cheap 10 gauge on their website. Would that still be okay?

do not wire an amp to a 10 ga wire. use at least 6 ga. i know people will tell you that it's overkill, but thin wires heat up easier than thick ones. you wanna have stable power going to your equipment.

alright ill look at heavier gauge wire. also when i get the amp and sub and enclosure how should i run the sub to the amp. should i use both channels for the sub or 1 channel. I'm kind of confused about that and dont want to accidently blow anything
