Default stupid u joints

Ok so after battling the hub off the knuckle and pulling the axle I get it into the vise with two sockets which I have done many a times but the u joints do not move at all, yes i removed every C clip and sprayed the crap out of them too. Is there any other trick to these or is it just a PITA. I have never dealt with u joints this stubborn.

no torch at all? Even a propane one?

When I did mine I heated it up good, then used a mini-sledge on the thick part of the ear, with the other ear balanced between the jaws of a vice.
