Default Stupid question

Hi all i've only had my 89 cheroke for 3 months...

The temperature diped below -30 'C (alberta canada) , so i go to plug in the jeep and i can't find the damn plug, i know its usually located by the battery and i've searched for a good 30 minutes. i know it has a block heater cuase the guy who sold me it told me to said "make sure i plug it in during the winter. "

Any help that could narrow my search would be greatly appreciated.

i really have no idea, but welcome to CF...find the block heater on the block and trace it to find the plug. or call the guy you bought it from and ask.

I have a block heater on mine, the plug should be located somewhere underneath your front bumper.

If it was nicer weather, I'd even go take a picture of it. Don't much feel like crawling under my jeep in 4" of snow

It should come through one of the front pieces of the unibody and just tuck into the back side of the bumper. It looks just like a normal power outlet wire. If it doesn't have a plug attached, you will need to attach a male plug to it, the two-prong kind.

Is that driver side or passenger....

so no luck as of yet.... and i just went out and layed in the 1 1/2 ft of snow looking for this damn thing under the bumper... I'm 85% certain it has one... i looked in my haynes manual and couldn;t find anything regarding it or its location. i heard theres two types of heaters one is a circulating antifreeze heater the other is the headbolt block heater... i'm pretty sure i have the headbolt type...

but then again i could of missed it under the bumper it's so cold my eyes keep freezing up (its hard to keep focused) so i could of missed it up in the dark corners

i would kill for a pic from anybody i don't know how many more days of these temps my baby will keep starting

No help in that tech link TJ but thanks it will probably prove useful in the future....

If anyone knows where the headbolt that the plug wire connects to is located on the engine do post please . i figure if i can find that then i can play "follow the wire" to the plug or just pull and restring it to a better more accessible spot

thanks or all the help so far
