Started the engine to warm up, drove up the driveway and stopped to light a cigarette. Then the engine just died... I tried to start it back up and it cranks and cranks but doesn't start. checked the spark plugs and no spark.
List of items I have replaced...
CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor)
Ignition Coil
all Spark plugs & wires leading to distributor(including to the coil)
Cap & Rotor in distributor
ECM(Engine Control Module)
Still no spark... What I found odd was that my "Check Engine" light has been on since i bought it 5 years ago. when I swapped the ECM it turned off. Not sure if that helps but it seemed odd to me because its still not running.
I tried troubleshooting the ASD with a similar Relay but still no luck... I have reached my knowledge limit. please help with any information. It is GREATLY appreciated.

Where did you get your new cps from? If it's an aftermarket one that may be your problem still. They have been known to be bad right out of the box. You may want to try an oem one from the dealer.Originally Posted by 11bangbang

It was a CPS from auto zone in town. would that explain the lack of spark from the plugs though?

Yes. And as Robert said aftermarket ones can be bad right out of the box. Seems the electronic systems on alot of vehicles don't work well or sometimes not at all with aftermarket parts.
