Here's the final answer!! 27" or 28" is way small for your XJ. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THE LOW PROFILE TIRES, PLEASE POST PIC'S SO WE CAN HAVE YOU FOR LUNCH

those are tire sizes, the wheels are 17x8s with unknown backspacing or offset, but I will run spacers if they are off.
i just found these pics with my jeep on 27" then 28" tires. these were so long ago I forgot about them. I like the idea of putting more power to the ground and the minor rise in cruising rpms should be counteracted with the lower rolling resistance of a good street tire.

no, they are just rough estimates with converted numbers. its a lot easy to think of things with actual measurements instead of sidewall percentages.

Well... All I have to say is... Yuck. Just like putting 20" rims on a classic muscle car is disgusting, putting small tires on large rims on a Jeep is also disgusting, IMHO. Btw, the 4.0 inline six engine is not made for high RPM usage like racing without being rebuilt first. The engine is tough, but not made for continuous racing use. New pistons, connecting rods, and a balanced crank would make it a nice screamer, though.

Wow, that makes three motors by my count? The original 4.0 that hydrolocked and threw the rod, the Honda motor, and now a new four-oh? What all have you done with this engine besides what you listed here?

clutch fan delete, alt relocation, new injectors, ac delete, 6-3-1 header, full mandrel bent exhaust including down pipe. AEM UEGO, AEM FIC (for full tuning). along with wet shot nitrous ( either a 100 shot, or maybe 6x 20 jets not yet determined.)
aluminum valve cover, ccv breathers.
some sort of highly modified intake, either dual throttle bodies, ported TBs hood scoops, ram air, thats all still kinda in the air too, this build has had its direction modified lots of times.
also on the list, everything has been heat coated, and heat wrapped, or reflective, everything to keep the heat down and the efficiency up. including header, intake, thermostat housing, coolant lines, throttle bodies, everything.
read my build thread its in my sig.
