Strange things
Ok, so yesterday I went out on the trail. At one point my " check engine " light comes on. So I popped the hood and made sure the MAP,CP'S, and other connections were solid. Check engine light remained on. Well I turned around and started to head home, when all of a sudden the " check gauges " light comes on, truck had no power ( was barely chugging along ) turned off the jeep and started playing around with this that and the othe. Fired it back up and check gauges is still on.
Gauges were all reading fine? Then I looked up at the outside temp gauge and it was say 104* in realality it was in the 60's this was the only thing I could find that was off. Yes I'm still heading home and all of a sudden the truck is running fine, all the bad lights turned off and all was good.
My question is as simple as WTF???????
can anyone make sence of this and maybe point me in the right dirrection to fix this?
Thanks

Drop the O'head console and inspect all the wiring for chafing, or any signs of shorting. If it happens again, drop the O'head console and disconnect the connector(s) and see if the problem goes away.

Ok so had to do some running around today and the ( outside temp is reading 119* --- no check engine light, and was running fine. So does that add up to a clue from the wise ones?
