Strange noise in dashboard

Strange noise in dashboard
Driving along and got a LOUD vibration under the dash on the left side. If I placed my hand on the left edge I could feel it. Hard to describe the sound, almost like a electrical relay gone crazy to the point of buzzing. Went on for about a minute then was gone. Any ideas?
