so the noise coming from somewhere along the drive belt when accelerating and its quiet when idling. its that sharp screeching sound when accelerating up until around 50 mph. when its coasting the noise goes away. It sounds like its coming from the water pump or the idle pulley but i just wanted to see if anyone here has ever come across this noise.

 

Check your harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). Could be grinding into the front cover.

Here is mine from a few years ago.. Remove the belt and turn the accessories by hand and find out which one is bad?

Please tell us the year, and engine of your Jeep please.

 

Deff gotta remove belt . Start spining things.

 

Idler pulley would be my guess. My 97 needed a new one. Took the belt off and spun the pulley by hand, and sounded similar to what yours is doing. Not quite as loud, no squeak. There was a squeak, but that was traced to a bad distributor.

Check the balancer tho, regardless.
