Default Strange grinding noise

I often here this grinding noise coming from my xj and im not sure what it is. It happens mostly when i take off from a stop sign or when going up hill or up a trail once in a while.
Im thinking its one of the u-joints on my drive shaft either front or rear
My jeep is my daily driver so i wanna get this worked out before it gets out of hand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Could be wheel bearings, ujoints, etc. Kind of need to narrow down the source of the sound to be sure though...

Instead of making a recording it might not be a bad idea to head underneath it & see whats going on.

If the trans or engine mounts are going bad the engine could rock just enough to make the fan rub on the shroud. This happened to me. Every time I'd get on it from a stand still, I'd hear a horrible grinding sound. I replaced my trans mount and pulled the fan shroud up a bit and the problem has gone away.
