I have read many post on this forum concerning steering shimmy, and death wobble problems. I have a 2001 stock XJ Sport with 50k miles. I was experiencing many of the same steering problems as everyone else, I had been running a set of 70 series tires and I could not drive between 55 and 60 mph because of the shimmy. When turning a tight radius, my tires would slide sideways, and my XJ wandered all over the road when the pavement was uneven. I changed to 235/75-15 Wranglers and all my problems went away. It is like driving a different vehicle, I cannot imagine the other tires were causing all the problems. I hope this will help someone else resolve some future problems. ps. I average 21 mpg with my XJ.
