Before people tell me to search, I have. It's pretty difficult to search through one or two threads with a million pages.
I need new tires badly. I plan on a 3-4.5 lift later on but can't do it now. I'm military and will be leaving the XJ with the wife while I'm gone. Instead of buying another set of tires after I lift I want to put the tires I want on now.
I know that 31s will rub but how bad? Only under flex and full lock turns? This will only be a street driven mall crawler for the time that I'm gone. Most that she'll have it flexed is when she hits a pothole or goes over a curb leaving a parking lot.
Thanks

I believe you can go 30X9.5 with minimum rubbing. I have 235/75 and they don't rub at all. However if you're doing a 3"-4.5" lift, you're most likely going to need 31's or 32's. Just find a stock set of tires off craigslist for now that has good tread till you do the lift.
