Question Stock audio problems

Hi there,

I just bought my 2000 Cherokee from a family friend a week ago and loving it so far! but i have some problems

My deck/display for my stereo only is visible once in a blue moon. the rest of the time i can't see the radio station/time. the lights for the bass, mid, and treble control work though. Also my front passenger speaker hardly works either. I've heard it working but nearly the whole time i've had my jeep its been dead and it is throwing the sound quality off when it does work momentarily it crackles in and out.

I have no experience with car audio repair, replacement, or navigation. but i did take the stereo deck out with my dad and was able to correctly get it in and out, so i feel as though i might be able to do some repairs at home if anyone here can help me out with my problems!

Thanks,
Casey

Replace the Head Unit and passenger speaker. The HU is on its way out and the speaker sounds like it has voice coil problems.

yea i would look a getting a replacemet since you already feel confident in removal. By a harness adapter (check ebay usually less than $10) which will just be plug and play instead of splicing the factory wires and you should be set on that. Good luck and hope it works out for you.

x2, new head unit, possibly broken speaker wire in pass door opening...or just bad speaker.
Good luck!

Head unit = stereo its self! Before replaceing the stereo (if it still plays) dig into the speaker problem & see if its just a loose or cut wire! Then while ur at the audio store you can pick up the HU & speaker if need be...
