check your fuel tank....if it is original, then it may be your culprit.... look here.... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/rep...e-4-0-a-50552/ ....then make sure your electrical is solid (i.e. strong/new battery, good grounds, no shorts, etc.)... good luck!
I can hear it prime, but I'm thinking something else might not be quite grounded right.
Searching the forums now for grounding points to review tomorrow.

Have you checked the compression on each cylinder?
Seems like thats the only thing that could be left.......maybe your fuel pressure regulator too....hmmm

Can I rule out the regulator by getting a definite value with a pressure tester on the fuel rail? I know I'm getting a good amount of pressure because it sprays pretty hard when I depress the valve. Dont have a pressure tester. A stop by Harbor Freight is in order I suppose.
If everything checks out I guess I'll go snag an ECM from the yard.

I was just asking Frank that. The list for tomorrow is to test compression, check grounds, injectors, and now the regulator.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I would think I would at least get a few starts before another pump is destroyed.

Compression test results:
1- 116psi
2- 118
3- 110
4- 110
5- 120
6- 123
Everything is within spec except 3 and 4 are a little low, but should be enough.
Have to get the wifey from work, I'm going to check the grounds next. Near as I can tell theres one one the firewall, block and tranny dipstick. Am I missing any?

Grounds look okay. I cleaned the oil and crap around them and theyre tight.
Fuel pressure peaks at 35-40 psi.
Think all thats left I can do to diagnos this is to pull the fuel rail and see if the injectors squirt anything.
Outside of that grabbing a computer from the yard, I can't think of anything else except maybe soldering the cps wires together, though the connectors appear clean and tight.

Plugs weren't too bad. Pretty decent actually. I put them in about 3 months ago. Small amount of carbon but nothing to write home about.
I just pulled the ECM from under the dash and wiggle some wires still just cranks away.
Injectors next. I'll pull the rail with them on and have someone turn while i see if they're spitting, shouldn't I hear them click?

BIG UPDATE
I removed the fuel rail with the injectors attached and not one sprayed even a drop!
SO, knowing I'm getting pressure to the fuel rail, how do I fix the injectors? Anyone know?

Traced the line down and found that my knock sensor is busted up. Can this keep it from starting or having the injector pulse? Also, on the same line where the connection for the knock sensor is is another connector that seems to go no where. It's 2 prong it appears and kinda small. It's not the O2 sensor plug because that is there and connected to the O2 sensor. Anyone know?

takes 3 things to make any engine run... spark... air/fuel mix and compression... pull injector rail reaplace o rings... and have some one crank over while its out and see if injectors spray...
do a compresion check....
and do you have spark when cranking ?

I checked compression, cylinder 1-116psi, 2-118, 3-110, 4-110, 5 -120, 6-123. I have spark from the coil to the distrib and from the distrib to the plugs. I pulled the rail and NONE OF THE INJECTORS SPIT AT ALL. The fuel rail reads around 35psi though.
As I mentioned before, the injectors aren't spraying anything. Not one drop. I suspect something is jacked there, but the only thing I can find is that the ECM controls the injectors.
