Still getting Vibes at 65+ and just about gave up
Im currently having problems with it again. Ive just about had it. Everything was great until I got it regeared at OK4WD in October. It has a RE 3.5'' lift kit with 33x12.50 BFG ATs. I got it regeared to 4.56s. I have LP D30 and 8.25 axles. My problem is a vibration under my feet and a harmonic when driving anywhere over 65mph. I brought it to them and they thought it was the front driveshaft so they put in a new Tom Woods one, didnt fix anything, then they put in a SYE and rear Tom Wood driveshaft, still didnt fix anything. Then they put in bearing somewhere, didnt fix anything. Then I got new adjustable upper control arms and I had them set it to the right angle and such to try and fix the pinon angle but that hasnt done anything either. Then they try and tell me that my jeep is not built for the road and its built for rock crawling(totally disagree). The vibration and noise only occured after I had it regeared. I have spent over $3000 at their shop trying to fix a problem that I believe they caused.
Could anyone help me out with knowing what is wrong???
Thanks

when was the last time you had your tires balanced? and check your wheel bearings/hubs and all your bushings

your gears could be causing some vibrations at higher speeds simply cause the gear youve chosen to go with is more for low end application..probably why the shop said it was made for rock crawlin' it's more typical to go with 4.11 gears to make up for larger tires and still maintain comfortable highway speeds. and id rethink the shop your taking this thing too. you didnt need a tom woods drive shafts or an SYE or adjustable upper control arms with a RE 3.5" kit....guess if you ever decide to go bigger itll come in handy though....

how much of a vibe are you getting? is it just a slight vibe that is just annoying you? or is it a loud vibe that is resonating through the jeep?
it could be in the axle when you had the gears set up, if they didn't set the backlash correctly, or the pinion pre-load, you could be getting the vibe from there. does the vibe go away when you let off the gas at that speed?

what might be happening is that when the lift was put on the transfer case may not of had a drop kit put on it and causing the drive shaft to vibrate. when i put a 3 inch lift on my xj it said it might vibrate a little bit and it does but its not to bad.

has the jeep ever been in a wreck? have you ever over twisted the body?
the reason i ask is cause my father was a body man for 30 yrs and i bought a porsche 944 that had the same problem and then my dad put the car on a frame rack for two days and walla the problem was gone. I know that a jeep is not a porsche but the body structure is basicly the same.. unibody and all.
