Default Stiff shocks

I have Rusty's 4.5 shocks all around. And it feels like they are bottoming out on every little bump. I don't know if it has anything to do with my jeep sitting for a year when i was deployed, or if they are just way to stiff. So like everybody I am looking to replace them low budget style. And quickly. Does anybody use shocks for other vehicles that have the travel to accommodate the lift.

my rusys are fine. if they sit for a bit sometimes they get kinda stiff due to settling but when it did it to me, sat for a yr or so, they worked themselves out. flexed nice and lasted another yr of hard wheelin. its why i have them now, i like them.

OK thanks, I guess I will give them a little more time to loosen back up.
Is there a downside to getting shocks that are a little bit longer than what is needed for your lift.

They are also the same as the DT3000 shocks that RE sells..Infact they are all made in the same factory and also basically the same as the Rancho RS5000 shocks..
