Stereo shuts off

Stereo shuts off
Ok, couple weeks ago i picked up a 93 cherokee, the guy told me the cluster lights didnt work so i went ahead and found out it was a bad fuse, once i replaced that my stereo stopped working. i noticed if i turn my cluster lights completely off the stereo turns on, what can it be?? i cant figure it out

Hmmm sounds like there might have been a short or surge on the wire harness that controls the cluster lights. Can you see and get to those wires? If so, you should check them out and see if there are any wires that are showing copper. Did you upgrade your stereo recently?

Ok so that solves the question of the power feed to the stereo being unhooked or exsposed. To me, it sounds like there is a wire that might have shorted or cooked or possibly a bulb... Were you able to get a look in there to look for anything abnormal?
