steering wheel not centered
Newbie XJ owner here. I've got a '99 2WD that we bought cheap and have been slowly fixing up. Is there any reason the steering wheel would be off center after replacing the track arm? I did the entire job with the truck on the ground and at one point during the swap moved the steering wheel when taking the old track arm off. My understanding is that the track arm only located the axle under the truck and shouldn't have anything to do with this steering wheel not being centered. Truck drives great though. Any ideas other than getting it aligned, which it needs anyways.

Adjust it where it connects to the pitman arm.
Everytime you mess with the trackbar the steering wheel will move cause the axle is moving and the axle is connected to the steering.

Yes, there is a sleeve that holds the pitman arm tie rod end to the drag link. Loosen the two nuts and spin it by hand until the steering wheel is straight. (Make sure you turn the key on to unlock the steering wheel or you'll just be moving the wheels.)
