Hey guys please need help again. On my 2001 Cherokee for awhile when I turned my steering wheel I would hear a popping noise. Finally I crawled underneath and had someone rock the steering. The steering box moved bad. Removed the air intake box and the electric fan and there is a bad crack where the gear box bolts to. I turned the steering to the right and it gets wider. Two questions has this happen to anyone and what would be the best way to fix it. I know I'm gonna have to wield it. Any help would be appreciated

Weld it and a plate steel reinforcement/space on the inboard and a 1/4 plate on the outboard side of the frame rail.
