Default Steering column swap

I have no idea what years are interchangeable for Cherokee's, but my 89 steering column is in need of being replaced... The ignition is going haywire and half the time i cant "lock" the ignition without the power staying on, the high beam switch isnt functioning, the blinkers are intermittent at the switch...

Looking to swap the whole thing out, but would love to know what year Cherokees are interchangeable. Little help y'all? Thanks

87 to 90 are the best to swap for, but I think that the earlier ones to 84 and maybe as far as 93 will still work as well. If you have none of those available look at Chevy/Buick columns because that's where Jeep got them.

There's a "Jeep Junkyard" (Olympic 4x4 in Snohomish) thats not too far from me and I can easily grab one, but would love to have the newer style steering wheel seen on (I believe 95+...). Its just the wiring that Im mainly concerned about.

Also wanted a newer style column that utilizes the newer keys so I can run the ignition, doors and rear hatch off one key instead of 2

Not familiar with the 95, but the leather wrapped ones out of the Pioneer are the ones I know most go for.
Also the 95 and up I believe use Chrysler wiring and not GM so the swap to post 95 may be to no avail.
