I just got a 94 Cherokee Sport today. It came with a problem, the electricals on the steering column arnt working: blinker switch doesnt work, wipers and horn too the key positions work but it wont start. The guy actually hot wired a button to the dash so it starts off the button. He said he did it because the ignition was going out. The only thing that works just fine is the hazard lights. Anyone got any suggestions? A wiring diagram would help out alot.

Im still learning this form, not sure where anything is, and I dont know much about Jeeps yet. Bare with me...

Ive been tinkering with it a bit and from what I can teel theres 2 harnesses going up the colum one says "wipers" and the other has 10 wires going up the colum on one end of the harness and 9 on the other. It it seems they pulled what I assume is the wire (yellow) for the ignition, ran it to the button and theres another wire coming from the button going into the fuse box in slot 3, says "PWR ACCY" above it, and a totally separate wire going from slot 16 to the floor, I havent tracked it.

rather than chasing a gremlin, i would just go to the junkyard and grab a replacement column.
94 is before air bags, so a swap is very simple.
