Default Steering box adjustment

If I mess with the adjustment of the steering box to try to take some play out of my steering wheel would it mess with my alignment? I have a feeling it wont but I jut figured I would ask before messing with it lol.

Do you mean the over center adjustment? If you tighten the adjuster it will remove some of the slop for a short period of time, at the expense of accelerated wear.

It won't change your alignment. As noted, it can accelerate wear on the steering gear.
That is actually a preload adjustment. If you must adjust it, do it in very small (1/8 turn) increments and see what happens. If your steering stops returning to center after a turn, or you feel any binding at all on center, go back the other way.

Why do you need to adjust the steering box?
Steering freeplay, and jeep wanders all over the road??

Caster adjustment would take care of the above problem.

Adjusting the steering box doesnt affect the alignment at all but could affect the position of the steering wheel just alittle bit. It does help to take slop out of the box and works quite well but be careful.

Ended up just tweaking it a small bit and the wheel seems to be a little tighter, I didnt really go overboard or anything so I think I should be fine. Thanks for the help everybody.
