at your height, to have correct steering you will needs something custom. you can build it yourself if you know how to weld. if you dont then you will be spending some $$. You need a over the knuckle setup because of your height but then you will have to customize you swaybar disco brackets. lots of work to be done on a 8" lift..............
I would lower is and buy a bolt on kit if you cant weld

im at 7inches and 35s right now and its way too tall but im rollin 37s this fall on FW axles, so ill leave it. but i dont drive mine everyday and i sometimes trailer mine to the trail.
can you post pics of you 8-9inch lift? im curious now.

actually it doesnt work at that height. we have a club member that run 37's with about 7-7.5". the tera flex steering binds up numerous times on a trail because of the height. unless he installed his wrong try again 4.3............

when a manufacture says it wont work and the OP wanted to know what would bolt on, all I do is relay the info.

Mine are not even close to binding. Something is wrong with the installation.

just going off what I see come into the shop. also why would you spend all that $$ on a d30 steering? you can build some or have a custom setup for half that.

Yes, I can build some, but if you use the stock steering arm at that height you have an impossible tie rod end angle that exceeds the limit of what it was designed to do. If you go to heims, they wear out and get sloppy. That is unacceptable by my standards. So the only real solution is to use a high steer from a company or go with the WJ steering set up which has some issues. I now have much stronger TIEs, much stronger tie rod and drag link, which in themselves cost several hundred dollars. I drive mine every day and I want it good enough for my wife to drive. So I spent the money and I refuse to Mickey Mouse stuff just because it is cheaper. I went with a high steer for one reason only, drag link angle. Yes you can get it to work, maybe. But I have driven rigs with high drag link angles and I don't like them that way.
As far as the TIEs binding, I assume on the drag link, with a 5" raise on the axle end and the 2" pitman arm drop supplied with the kit, it is hard for me to visualize a cause for any binding. That is just about the stock drag link angle. If his castor angle was way off that might cause it. But that is not the fault of the kit. It might also be possible to do something like that with a suspension that allows the front spring to drop down 4-5" on the upper mount, but that is not something that is set up properly anyway. That kind of droop does absolutely no good except for poser shots.

to the OP just get someone or yourself to build yourself some new steering. i ended up goin that route after i bent some so called HD steering from Rugged ridge and teraflex, i also wheel hard.
4.3 the teraflex crap is not the greatest and xjoffroad is right it is meant for 6 to 6.5" call and ask i just did. anything really over 7 inches causes binding.

i run 7 inches of lift with a fat drop pitman arm and zj steering on 33's i could go 8 inches, it dont bind. idk the name of the drop pitman arm though, i bought at a four wheel drive swap meet.
