Steering and 4th gear problem
Hey everyone
96 XJ few new things. Haven't replaced TPS but I'll test that later. Installed new radiator and perhaps coincidence but 4th gear is starting to go really low when driving 45 mph like 1200 rpm. Then idle for 2 minutes and goes in neutral looking for 4th gear. 3rd gear as well sometimes. It has done the low 4th gear before the new radiator but once for 5 seconds every 3 months kinda thing. Now it's everyday.
The steering hesitates then jerks. Sometimes a steering rack knock included. The steering used to jerk only when going right at a certain speed now I can feel it at all speeds going threw a turn. Fluids are okay and belts new.
Had a transmission shop replace some things for 1 2 and 3rd gear costed like 700.
I've taken it offroading several times however it's my restomod and like to keep it clean and reliable
