Just replaced the CPS on my 96 Cherokee Sport...couple things
First thing is, if you're ordering through Advance Auto Parts, you have to state your XJ is a 97 instead of a 96 b/c they use different connectors between those years. So after returning mine original purchase, I changed my selection online to a 1997 Jeep Cherokee and it had the right size connector.
Second, the brand was BWD and when I originally compared the two side by side, you can see that the BWD brand was about an inch or two shorter than the one that was currently on my jeep. Didn't think much of it, until when I installed it. There's almost zero slack in the wiring, which kinda got me a little cautious. Now, anyone else run into this problem?
Overall it's relatively easy to change, the hardest part was trying to configure my 3/8" extensions so it worked just right with a u-joint connector.
