Default Steel Seal - has anyone used it?

I'm looking for some straight up answers on this " miracle juice ". I'm moving to Cali in two weeks & don't have the time to pull the head & repair it right now. I'm towing her out there behind a u-haul, not driving it. I just want to get some opinions from people who have used it or know someone who has.

Look at the fluid inside. If its clear with no flakes or anything like that use it for as short a time as possible. If it has flakes, don't bother. You'll be not only pulling the head, you'll be replacing the engine when you hydrolock it! (Flakes build up over time, clog water jackets. Cause overhearing issues then catastrophic failure.)

This stuff is clear, no flakes so it shouldn't clog up the Rad & stuff.

Sure it will it will clog everything, I wouldn't even recommend using it even as a last resort.

Yea if you are planning on towing it with you then there is no point in trying a "miracle" repair. It likely wont do you any good and like was said already likely will cause you more issues down the road. I would just tow it and fix it when you get to where you are going.

A headgasket is fairly cheap fix if you can turn a wrench replacing a motor isn't.

Ya, I'll just fix it when I get there. I can get a gasket kit for about the same price as that Steel Seal. I just didn't want a head gasket job to be the first thing on my list when I get there, I already have so much to do. And today it's replace the water pump... AGAIN...

IRONTITE best on the market 18$ a bottle at your local machine shop. but bypass your heater core initially. drove a car with heads cracked so bad it would hardley run till I put that stuff in it. Drove it for 14 months after treatment without any issues.

I'm going to research it, I'd like to do a temp fix cause I just wont have the time to do the repairs when I get to Cali, it'll take some time before I'll be able to pull the head & do the repairs.

It'll take even more time to pull the dash and replace the clogged heater core.

I've heard 10-14 hours first time.

It is your vehicle so do what you want with it but I feel the need to point out that that stuff is not "smart". What I mean by that is it isnt going to just search out leaks and cracks,it will distribute itself all through the system and attach to the first thing that will let it.
It will likely cost you more work and money down the line.
I my self have not had any bad run ins with any of that stuff because I have never use it and never would.
It is made to plug things up and that is what it is going to do.

I do wish you luck with which ever path you take though.
