Want to get some opinions on what is better for a mostly DD wheel. So is it steel or alloy?

If you dont do much wheeling alloy if you wheel a lot steel.

I just read today that steel decreases gas mileage... And some of the stock alloys look really nice.

i just like steel because they are cheaper and i dont care if i scratch them like i do with alloy
