Default Starting problems

Hi I'v been messing with with my jeep for a month now, and still san't figure this thing out. I thought this would be the place to go. More jeep lovers. The thing is I have a 1994 jeep cherokee strait 6 4.0 120,000 mil. That is starting very hard in the morning. It is turning over and fiering. then it just dies. I can get it to start by pumping the gas (after many tries). Then when it gets going, I have to keep the gas pressed about a quarter throttle, after skipping and backfiering and running real rough (like its not on all 6 cly) it will finally pan out. After that it will start on a dime the rest off the day. But it will skip alot going down the road. Alot when first starting out and at a steady speed not so much when you excilerate hard and never when costing.

Things I have alredy done:

<had it in two different sanners> got no coeds

<did the key trick scan> got a 12 & 55

<Changed plugs and wires> Checked fiering order.

<Changed roter cap and button> rechecked for cracks or miss fiering.

<Changed sensore on top off termo stat>

<Changed fuel fillter> Checked for leeks around that none. But seem to be smelling gas?

<Changed trottle positon sensore>

<Changed crank position sensore> This is the only thing that helped. (the starting) But only for a couple off days. But it also started hitching where it didn't before. It was a after market part. Maybe it was bad?

Another couple things It had a gas smell in the oil so I changed that. Plus the trottle body has had black oily crap oround and in it, when I tock off the breather. But when its idling it never skips sputters or any thing.

Help befor I need a loan to keep this thing.
All the money for my new diggers is almost gone.

Thanks
Ryan

Sounds like a MAP (mass air Press.) sensor, MAT (Mass air Temp.) sensor or O2 (Oxygen) sensor to me, Bud. Those are the three sensors that the ECU takes info. from to lean or richen the mixture. You can do a google search and get the information you need to read these sensors out with a multi-meter.
