Starting problems?
Got a 00 cherokee with the 4.0.. When i start it up it idles very low and you have to press the throttle to make it not sound like its going to die, and it wont start responding to the throttle at least for a few pumps to get warmed up.. Any ideas? After it warms up its fine.

You might try cleaning the throttle body and the Idle Air Control stepper motor. It may be a good time to do a basic tune up..changing spark plugs (take note of how they look when you pull them out), air filter, and plug wires, distributor cap and rotor (if those havent been changed in a while)
These may not be the issue but they are common culprits of similar symptoms. Also check all the vacuum hoses that they are not clogged or leaking.

IIRC, the '00 doesnt have the rotor+ distributor cap, but the coil(s) setup
Have you done anything yourself yet, before advice is given and then turns out already done and tried (this to speed things up a bit)
The cleaning and tuning suggestions above mentioned are a good start.
As a basic thing in start problems, check your battery to exclude issues there (have it load tested if possible)
See if this changes anything and let us know. There are several causes (including battery, TPS, fuel delivery etc etc), and combinations, possible, so keep us updated.

Well it got a tune up already and the battery is good. Im either thinking that not enough fuel/air is making its way to let the motor open up and breathe, because once i start pumping the fuel it comes to life. However i was wondering if it may be the alternator. Ill try cleaning it though
