Default Starter problem! need help!!

Ok so here is a little run down on my jeep. I just purchased a used motor from an engine shop, just finished installing the motor, now no start. When i turn the key nothing happens. i can hear a faint click but nothing, i know the starter is still good and the solenoid i have tested them both. the starter engages when you jump it and the jeep fired right up. I'm leaning towards the NSS but when i turn the key on and put it in reverse the reverse lights come on. Sorry for the life story lol.

Ok sorry to state the obvious here but are you sure you hooked the ground cable back up to the block?

I would say double check the fuses and all your connections. It kindof sounds like a connection issue. Make sure you battery connections are tight as well. Chances are something didn't get hooked up or tightened down during the swap.

could be. Did you try and start it in neutral instead of park and wiggle the lever around?

Still could be the NSS. I would start troubleshooting and take some voltage readings. You gave to see where you have power and where you don't. Make sure you battery is full charged and start measuring wire voltage.
